Bishop John Schol will meet with African American Laity at First Hyattsville
UMC, 6201 Belcrest Road, Hyattsville, Maryland and you are invited.
Bishop Schol will engage in conversation about discontinuing or merging
congregations, homosexuality, what is an appropriate apportionment level,
what will help your congregation become a vital Acts 2 congregation, and
what does the 2020 Vision mean for our future. In preparation for this day,
you are encouraged to read Bishop Schol’s Episcopal address to the Annual .
Conference found at www.bwcumc.org.

Please note that the Charge Secretary, Debbie Jones will be on vacation from Tuesday, June 26th, until July 3rd, 2012.

Saturday, July 28th, 6:00 p.m.:

Anniversary Banquet in the Wesley Hall. Tickets will be available.
Sunday, July 29th, 10:00 a.m.:
Worship Service followed by a potluck luncheon.
Ads for the souvenir journal are welcomed: full page $100.00, half page $50.00,
quarter page$25.00


August 2012 Events
Registration will continue for Vacation Bible School which will be held from Monday, August 6th to Friday, August 10th, 2012 (Please note the change of date).  For more information, please contact Sister Audrey Arthur, 301-731-0556.

Saturday, August 25th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon:
 We will resume the "Walking with the Word" Bible Study as we continue studying I
Refuse to Lead a Dying Church by Paul Nixon. We will meet at Grace UMC. Bring
your Bibles and your walking shoes!

There will be a Spiritual Gift Workshop at Grace United Methodist Church
Registration fee is $5.00 which will cover lunch, materials and the book “Discovering
your Spiritual Gifts” by Kenneth Cain Kinghom.  An optional book “What’s so Special
about your Gifts” by Henry & Mei Blackaby is available for $10.00.  If you are
interested, please contact Sister Hilda Macauley homacauley@verizon.net and/or

You are encouraged to dress down for summer (shorts are okay but no short shorts)
but don't forget to show up for worship!

Ager Road UMC Anniversary Committee is soliciting signatures for the Patron List for the
Souvenir Journal.  A $5.00 donation per signature will be appreciated. 

 The Committee on Lay Leadership (COLL) is currently developing the 2013 nominating
slate for Charge Conference. If you believe you are called to serve in a particular
Ministry leadership position in 2013, please contact Pastor Paul at 410-299-2570
before August 31st, 2012.

Volunteers needed! If interested in helping with the Grace UMC Food Pantry, please contact

Sister Dahlia Leigh (http://www.blogger.com/%22http://mailto:dleighkk@gmail.com%22) or Brother Dunrick-Sogie Thomas (http://www.blogger.com/22http://mailto:dunricks@yahoo.co.uk%22).  We need help on Fridays to transport and store food and on Saturdays to distribute food. Currently we only distribute food once a month on 1st Saturdays but if we have more volunteers from the Charge we can distribute food twice a month or maybe every Saturday.

Your financial assistance is needed! Grace UMC is currently behind on apportionments so

don't forget to give over and beyond your normal tithe and offerings to our
Apportionment Fund every 3rd Sundays so we can meet our Conference obligation.
